Maybelline mascara..

I’ve been missing in action for so long haven’t i?

I know i made that little promise to myself that i would actually spend some time to record my daily happenings or whatever quirky thoughts that comes to mind but lately, i’ve been so busy and so sick too, to even think.

Work has been pretty stressful lately.

Let’s see. I’m supposed to come up with a 1 year training plan for the company but let’s see, I’m pretty stuck with them.

How do you actually approach to train working adults? Do i treat them like really fresh beginners who know nothing or i can actually skip some bits and go for more interesting topics.

God knows how long i have been stuck at that!

I have also been busy interviewing and the article is supposed to be up and posted very soon. Like c’mon Fara, you really need to buck up and start piecing all the words together!

Unfortunately, i’m going through some kind of a writer’s block. I seem to run out of ideas.

Software auditing has been a pain in the ass. Too many numbers running in front of my eyes that i thought that i’m going to be cross-eyed if i ever have to do it any longer.

Health wise hasn’t been any way fantastic either.

Was down with fever for almost a week!

Swelling lymph nodes and just after i finish my second set of antibiotics, my face decides to blow up into a pimple wonderland.

Small zits with those white pus that you can’t help but squeeze; well i have it all over my face and neck right now.

If you ask me, i think i look pretty ugly even to my own eyes.

But that aside, i promised my dear friend, Camy that i would do a review on my latest mascara so i shall do just that.

I only use two coat of mascara as i don’t want my lashes to look “heavy”.

Photobucket

My verdict:
I bought it cheap at the duty free zone and i think it’s really not that bad. It does not give as much volume as a false lashes could but i think it goes really well for an everyday look.

So my dear camy, if you’re buying it back, please buy 2 tubes for me please.. HEHEHEHE!

Kota Kinabalu...

Somehow, i feel that spending only 3 days in Kota Kinabalu feels a little bit too short. There’s so many thing that we can’t get around doing like enjoying the hot springs, island hoping, visiting all the beautiful mosque there and probably some sightseeing at Mount Kinabalu itself.

What dampens my mood even further was that i was down with flu and was feeling sleepy most of the time.

Sad isn’t it?

Having said that, i enjoyed my moments there, spending some quality time with my hubby who has always been busy with work and courses. HEHE!

My flight was scheduled at 10.30 AM so i was out of the house bright and early, hoping to catch breakfast at the airport before we leave.

I don’t know why but i was feeling sappy about leaving my parents behind. Maybe it was the dream that i had a few days ago prior to my vacation that my plane was going to crash.

A horrible dream isn’t it?

So i sms my mom and dad, telling them that i’m going to miss them and i almost cry in the cab.

I said almost because i’m too cool to cry in front of my equally too cool husband. HAHAHA!

Flight there was horrible!!

There was this family who brought a baby who’s probably less than a year old with them. Maybe the baby’s tolerance to the pressure was minimal so she was crying through-out the 2 hour flight!

As much as i sympathise with the kiddo, i find it downright annoying! How could the parents be so careless? Can’t they just wait for the kid to grow a little before lugging her with you on the plane?

Even if they don’t care about those long cries, they should have spared a thought for the other passengers! Morons!

Anyway, the flight was longer than expected. We only reach our hotel 30 minutes after 1.

HOTEL WAS GREAT!

Love the deco, love the toiletries!

Do you know that they actually give us Crabtree & Evelyn! That my friend, are no cheap toiletries that you get off Watsons. LOL!!

First lunch that we have in Kota Kinabalu was at New York, New York!

Photobucket

I’m so excited to find it there for the plain reason that the franchise is not halal in Singapore! Like duh!

Unfortunately, they don’t give you and cotton candy because there’s no queue at all. Not that i see the machine in the first place. LOL!

And yes, the place was almost like a ghost town! Shops does not have much patrons and you can enjoy a breezy shopping experience without the pushing and hustling unlike here in our very packed (and kiasu) country. HEHE!

Food was a disappointment!

I had Fish and Chips and the taste could only be described as “Yuck!”

Photobucket

The clam chowder was exceptionally nice though. So was the Latino Chicken Chop and the mud pie!

I guess i was just unlucky.

We did some shopping for the people back home. Actually, there’s nothing much to shop. Shopping wise, i have to say that Singapore is cheaper.

Photobucket

In terms of branded goods of course!

We compared the price for Braun Buffel in Singapore or Guess in Singapore, you would actually find it cheaper here.

So we did whatever shopping that we need to and head to dome for some liquid to hydrate our dry throat. LOL! So drama huh! HEHEHE!

We did not take dinner that night as we had very late and heavy lunch. Instead, we decided to catch a movie. LOL!

The title is Pisau Cukur.

It’s a Malay comedy and totally hilarious. I would say, a must watch. At one point of the show, i thought Aaron Aziz might just kiss Fazura and i almost go “wow” but forget it, malay shows would never feature kissing scenes. It’s not even right to begin with. I was just being mentel . HAHAHAHAH!

And i have something funny to share myself.

I ACTUALLY WALKED INTO THE WALL WHEN I WAS WALKING IN TO THE CINEMA!

Talked about making a comedy of myself! All the way in Kota Kinabalu! LOL!!!!!

Hubby as usual, was laughing hard at his own beloved wife predicament. Keep telling himself that he should have video the whole thing.

Didn’t i tell you that my husband loves me deeply to the deepest corner of his heart? *rolls eye*

So that was our first night.

Second day was spend in town.

Photobucket

Photobucket

To be honest, the town looks really ghetto.

Nothing fancy there except that it’s packed with shopping centres that looks like Lucky Plaza. HAHAHA!

But we do uncover a wonderful North Indian restaurant at the waterfront area and hubby and i was truly impressed.

Photobucket

Photobucket

Food was amazing and it only cost us SGD 38 bucks. And how do i know that is because they would actually convert the bill to sing dollars for u. HEHEHE!

We also had some dessert at this stall called Vedablu. They are selling gelato ice cream and it’s really nice. The flavours are really addictive. Almost comparable to my Ben & Jerry. Almost. HEHEHEHE!

Photobucket

We continued with some shopping and get bored and decided to hit back to the mall connected to our hotel.

Decides to shop for more clothes and take more vain pictures everywhere and then we did the most hilarious thing that a Singaporean could truly do.

We decided to hit Giant supermarket and buy some Maggie Mee just because it’s really cheap! It’s only RM 3.99 for a pack of 5. HEHEHE!

Photobucket

Hubby was actually encouraging me to do my grocery shopping there but seriously, i think he’s nuts. How the hell are we going to lug all of that in our luggage? LOL!

Our last dinner in Kota Kinabalu was at Sushi King. My first time eating at a Sushi joint because firstly, i don’t really like sushi and secondly, most of them in Singapore are not halal.

Photobucket

I only ate 2 plates of sushi. Pathetic kan? But i’m just not a sushi person.

We end our holiday there as the next morning we have another morning flight to catch bound to Singapore.

Talking about short getaway. It truly feels short this time round.

We had our last breakfast at the hotel at 7 AM. The earliest breakfast that i ever took.

Then it’s time to bid goodbye and hopefully we could come again another time especially when the manager promised to give us a free upgrade for our next visit.

WEEEE!!!!!

P.S: I had a great find at a duty free shop at Changi Airport. A Maybelline’s mascara which is not sold in our normal store. HEHEH! I’m so excited. LOL!
